I had a new cornea grafted to my right eye on 2 June 2021. The procedure was performed at the Salisbury Hospital eye clinic. It appears to have been a great success. 

I have not had any discomfort, and my sight improves daily. Apart from having to insert many drops every four hours and a dreadful appearance, all is well.

Similar to my career in a pharmaceutical wholesale warehouse, I have an INTJ personality quirk that prompts me to discern and question so much more than I find in the worldly news. I could write endlessly, but I expect my ramblings will be no more interesting than the news itself. 

A top BBC news story, Joe and Jill Biden, announce the death of their dog, Champ. 'The President pays emotional tribute after their 'sweet good boy' dies aged 13. He died peacefully at home, and he will undoubtedly go to heaven'. 

I fail to imagine what that has to do with anyone outside Biden's family. Since Biden holds that customary manner of obligation, what about all the aborted babies who have no choice in their destiny. He should be racked with despair, and by the way, where is heaven? Do they all get there?

 So many of our human species are fascinated by the possibility of an alien presence on our planet. Our scientists are constantly seeking intelligent life on other planets. The possibility of something being a replica of an earthly human on another planet and even on this planet is highly unlikely.

To find the equivalent of an alien, we must seek no further than ourselves, homo sapiens, the wise human. We have occupied this planet for about 200,000 years—a bipedal primate with a large brain, able to communicate and make sophisticated tools.

We forget that our presence's initial intention was to be an integral part of cosmology.  The whole point of the cosmos is to serve; everything in nature is here for one reason and is interdependent.

In 2007 the House of Commons Environmental Audit recommended that the UK Government conduct a full ecosystem assessment. The intention was to enable the identification and development of effective policy for the benefits provided by ecosystems and contribute to making human life both possible and worth living. The whole point of the system is to serve humans.

As aliens, we have plundered and raped this planet to the degree that we are blatantly causing self-destruction, not unlike a disease, bacteria or virus causing the death of its host. We are dredging the sea bed to feed our pets and the countless millions of people. Thousands of years of agriculture have drained the soil of essential nutrients.

Believing we know better, we modify our habits and indirectly deny ourselves adequate nutrition, including exposure to the sun. Relocation to unfamiliar regions of the planet causes unintended or unexpected consequences to our health while we drain the planet of resources we cannot replace.

It is just a matter of time before the planet becomes uninhabitable, and even that is not too far off.

Supply and demand are as fundamental as one can understand. The inherent value of things, regardless of whether it is eggs or banknotes. A shortage of eggs causes a rise in the price of eggs. In the same way, an oversupply of money causes a devaluation of the money. 

We fully understand the situation with eggs, but we customarily give little attention to the money supply. In 1971, President Nixon decoupled the US dollar from gold. As a result, money lost its inherent coupled value, and its worth is subject to traders agreeing on its value. Society determines the value and allows otherwise infeasible trades to become possible. Traders get more when trading assuming that fiat money is valuable

Since cancelling the direct convertibility of dollars into gold, the United States started printing fiat money, and now fiat monies are used globally. An oversupply of printed banknotes devalues the money in circulation. Excess money seeking a constant egg supply causes a virtual shortage, and a resulting price increase called inflation.

There seems to be no limit to the provision of money to satisfy demands or diversity of needs. As a result, the Western world is wallowing in money, causing undisclosed inflation. Government treasuries quietly benefit from inflation as an alternative to taxes. 

In a stable economy, a money supply needs to be created by 'egg layers'. Money earned by many celebrities and through inappropriate bonuses finds its way into real estate and the stock market; it inflates the value. Non-essential ventures act like blotting paper. They mop up surplus money and return it in inflationary ventures that benefit the wealthy at the expense of the masses.

 There is a lot to be said about living on the 'edge'. Space within is cluttered with debris and a citadel of doubtful stability. The fragility of the structure is the incomprehensible network of just-in-time commitments that bond it together. Many of the engagements within are so fragile that a simple misstep could bring the whole structure into chaos.

The Internet is as significant a threat as a nuclear bomb. Failure of the Internet would bring about untold despair and social conflict. Recently a large section of the network was inactivated by a single user, unexpectedly causing a major failure. Excessive growth of scams and devious behaviour could bring about a state of self-destruction. 

Upon researching the source of North Korean revenue, it appears that they scoured the world for 'scam' opportunities. A formal declaration in December 2017 confirmed that North Korea was behind the  WannaCry ransomware attack. It is estimated that more than 200,000 computers across 150 countries suffered losses of millions of dollars.

Wise apes are bent on self-destruction based on an insatiable desire for power, profit and accumulation. We are no longer part of the biodiversity of this planet. By dredging the sea for food and draining the land of essential nutrients, we are depleting the value of our food and physical health. 

The threat of COVID and other related health issues probably stems from an inappropriate lifestyle and poor nutrition. Crops we grow have been withdrawing essential nutrients from the soil for at least 2000 years, the period of agriculture. We never replace those nutrients except for compounds that provide for supermarket quality and profit.

How will the wealthy use their earnings when food and resources are depleted? Perhaps retire to their preplanned bunkers in anticipation that they can emerge when the apocalypse has ended. Take care, everyone, enjoy each day and find love as it alone remains.
